Yesterday I flew out of Cleveland Hopkins Airport. I was put in the naked scanner line and chose instead to opt out. The TSA employee who "screened" me ie completed molested me was laughing with her coworker after she finished my screening. She turned around and pointed me out to the other TSA employee. So I walked over and asked her name. I thought the behavior was unprofessional and demeaning. The "lead" officer told me that information was private. The name on her nametag was private information? The lead officer responded yes and physically blocked me from asking the officer her name. So she has the right to fondle me in the name of safety but doesn't have to identify herself?

This kind of immature behavior coupled with the unaccountability of unconstitutional and immoral federal government powers is a toxic brew. This will not end well. Mr. Obama, pull back your goons!

Obama didn’t create the TSA and he didn’t ram through the Patriot Act or create DHS. Let’s stick to demonizing him for shit he ACTUALLY DID ok?

    • Thanks for your comment but I didn’t demonize him and he is actually keeping these goons on the job. He has the power to fix this. Therefore, it is only appropriate to address complaints to him.

I agree with George here… It was enacted by executive order, and can be either controlled or dissolved by executive order. What happened to the citizen’s right to petition the government for grievances? That’s where I would think the rubber meets the road here. Even police officers must identify.

      • Casey says:

Sorry for the double post… It’s two years since GWBush is out of office. George oughtta know that everything’s GW’s fault, up to and including our Fukushima disaster. The tsunami was caused by a jet that crashed in the ocean, which caused the earthquake. ;)

      • Wimpie says:

        I’m with George.
Nobody in Congress, with a few exceptions, have the cajones to reign in this Unconstitutional agency. Since Obama was a Constitutional Lawyer, before becoming HMFIC, the ball’s (are) in his court.
He has the power, but no cajones either!

        • mechgogo says:

Personally I agree that the TSA needs to be reigned in and that the bullshit going on these days is textbook “If you’re not pissed off you’re not paying attention” stuff. And I’m willing to bet I’m the only person commenting that has several good friends working for the agency. Problem is, if the President disbands the agency he’ll be committing political suicide, both for himself and his party. What needs to happen is that the nudie scanners need to be scrapped, the patdowns discontinued and people to quit referring to government departments that were put in place by the PREVIOUS administration as being the CURRENT administration’s people. Let’s leave the partisan tarbh shite out of this and focus on the matter at hand shall we?

          • Obama is in charge now. Everything he hasn’t stopped doing from Bush is a de facto endorsement of it. Thus they are his goons. I know you understand this.

          • Casey says:

Yes, mechgogo, let’s leave the partisan stuff out of it….
            ***Is the Constitution partisan? No.
***Is there a clear difference between what the TSA is doing and what the constitution says is acceptable? Yes.
***Is the oath of office partisan? No.
***Does the oath of office state that the president is charged with protecting and preserving the constitution? Yes.
***Has the previous president adhered to his oath? No (based on the Patriot Act), but still irrelevant. It has been two years since he left office and he cannot run for office again, so stop campaigning…. Unless you really are partisan and want to Bush bash or engage in partisan discussion instead of expecting CURRENT public officials to do the due diligence. (Is expecting people do their jobs partisan? No.)
***Has our current president exercised his powers in an attempt to uphold the oath? No.

I don’t care who is in office. I expect them to do their job just the same and be accountable under the law of the land, which is the Constitution and the oath that they swore. I don’t care if the TSA is dissolved or not, but if that is what it takes to preserve our human rights granted in the constituion, make it so. If they can keep the TSA and ensure our rights are preserved and make it safer (the original intention), then keep them…..

Even GWBush said that if the terrorists change our way of life, they have won. Based on the TSA’s actions, they have won. Mind you, the stuff that the TSA is doing to violate people’s rights didn’t start until what year? Can someone fill in the blank?

          • Daniel says:

Considering that the CURRENT administration is RESPONSIBLE it is THEIR people. The commander in chief “owns” them, OK?

    • Casey says:

I want to make it clear…. President Bush in 2001 signed this into law….

When President Bush signed this into law… it included….
‘‘(4) REVOCATION OR SUSPENSION OF AUTHORITY.—The powers authorized by this subsection may be rescinded or suspended should the Attorney General determine that the Under Secretary has not complied with the guidelines prescribed in paragraph (3) and conveys the determination in writing to the Secretary of Transportation and the Under Secretary.

Seems to me like we need to look at this a little closer.

  2. Marcus says:

We need to abolish the TSA now!

From what I gather from this article, the gentleman in question got a body cavity search from the TSA.

  3. Brian Clark says:

mechgogo – you are an imbecile. There is just no other explanation that I can think of. I know this sounds rather childish to be name-calling, but I just can’t figure out why anyone other than a complete idiot would stand up for Obama. I am at a loss for words. Complete waste of time reading your comment and replying to it.

    • mechgogo says:

Brian, If you want to get into a discussion about the personal character of our current President we can do that. However, if you’d like to keep the conversation ON TOPIC you might want to note that I never questioned the need to reign these thugs in. My issue is over the description of them as PRESIDENT Obama’s thugs. As for your opinion of me personally, I’ll give it the same amount of weight I would any random internet troll.

      • Casey says:

Hey, I was wondering… Why was Brian’s question off topic? Why is he a troll? I find that in many cases, trolling consists of saying something with the intent of stirring people up. Sure he may have flamed you. But certainly not a troll ;)

I took a second to take a peek at something here… The establishment of the TSA… It seems to me that the rules are not being followed….
