I’ve been in law enforcement for the past 18 years. I have attended a variety of training over those years. During the 1990s, most training I attended was community-oriented, sponsored by local agencies or private companies specializing in police training. Themes common to training of the past included topics such as Constitutional rights, community partnerships, youth-oriented programs and problem-oriented policing. During the past several years, I have witnessed a dramatic shift in the focus of law enforcement training. Law enforcement courses have moved away from a local community focus to a federally dominated model of complete social control. Most training I have attended over the past two years have been sponsored by Department of Homeland Security (DHS), namely the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). No matter what topic the training session concerns, every DHS sponsored course I have attended over the past few years never fails to branch off into warnings about potential domestic terrorists in the community. While this may sound like a valid officer and community safety issue, you may be disturbed to learn how our Federal government describes a typical domestic terrorist.

Now I don’t agree with everything in the linked article. I’m especially wary of this talk of being a good Christian and making friends with local cops. There are good Muslims and Jews and folks of other religions, too. And local cops can be just as unaccountable and thuggish as any other cop.

But the part about keeping an eye on local cops and who is training them is very insightful. TSA is a part of the Homeland Security police state. Be careful this tyranny isn’t injected into your town or city.

What does describe a “typical domestic terrorist”? I’ll bet it’s a person that hates to have their boobs and crotch grabbed in an airport? Is it the person that DARES speak their mind in an intelligent manner about our body and rights being violated? Is it the person that really dislikes someone trying to do a virtual strip search by radiation? Is it the person who does not want their childrens private parts touched or their little bodies being seen naked by a scanner? I must be a domestic terrorist then. OOOOOO! I even plant a garden and save seeds because I really don’t like MONSANTO hand in hand with the govt. so they can force us to eat their genetic enginered food and make a profit! Either I am a terrorist or someone in Washington needs a psys exam! Well…..bring it on a-holes! No American wants to cause a fuss or a fight. All we want is for this creepy crap to stop and let us live in peace! Wana involve cops now? They have already lost so much respect in this country it’s SICK….now just add them in with the TSA and make them look even worse!

I can tell you right now how they describe them: White conservative.
Don’t believe it? Read this straight from the horse’s mouth (DHS)

  3. May I suggest George that you highlight the link in some way. I am not sure everyone realizes that the link is at the end of your summary to the original post. Btw…if you read my story you will see that I was threatened by the company mentioned to be reported to the FBI – I was contacted by different lawyers representing the company and at the end of the day, none of that was done. Keep up the good work and le us not be demolished by the thugs.

Based on the things in that blog entry, pretty much EVERYBODY is a potential terrorist. And in that regard, DHS is teaching police to behave just like TSA. So, at least they are consistent. :(

Where is the link? I have tried every word and can’t find it.

The real problem I see and I don’t know how its going to be changed, its that: What are we supposed to do as the public who as an individual cannot do a single thing to stop what is happening to the ever growing police state. They are training people to watch the facial and body language of individuals to “see” if they are exhibiting “suspicious” behavior. Maybe I think they (police, TSA) are exhibiting suspicious behavior. So what do I do? Smile, thank you sir, yes sir, anything you say sir…….Or, Are you kidding me? What do you mean you have to touch my privates and feel around? Let me touch your privates and feel around because I don’t trust you……..Well, if I can say that then we all know where I am going, and its not on my vacation. We are in BIG trouble. One thing does comes to mind however. If you can’t fight them, join them. Get a job with the TSA or local police and destroy them from within.

A potential right wing extremist or potential terrorist is defined as the following
groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups),and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or
rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedic…ated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.

Or- anyone that doesn’t toe the line and provide unwavering support to the Govt. It is shocking that I – a liberal independent would be classified as this.
