UCSF scientists speak out against airport full-body scans … in APRIL. White house *just* responded! They suggest the scanners can cause skin cancer, breast cancer, they can fry your testicles and your cornea. What effect they might have on children and pregnant women? Completely unknown!
We are writing to call your attention to serious concerns about the potential health risks of the recently adopted whole body backscatter X-ray airport security scanners. This is an urgent situation as these X-ray scanners are rapidly being implemented as a primary screening step for all air travel passengers.
Our overriding concern is the extent to which the safety of this scanning device has been adequately demonstrated. This can only be determined by a meeting of an impartial panel of experts that would include medical physicists and radiation biologists at which all of the available relevant data is reviewed.
An important consideration is that a large fraction of the population will be subject to the new X-ray scanners and be at potential risk, as discussed below. This raises a number of ‘red flags’. Can we have an urgent second independent evaluation?

This is absolutely a horrific invasion of piracy, I mean privacy,no maybe I meant both! Piracy of your privacy and dignity. These methods are diabolically invasive, the radiation tests have not been proven safe, and it seems to amount to no more than legal assualt and humiliation. Flying just got too dangerous for me and my family. We plan on taking a car trip vacation far away from the TSA scanners and scumbag recruits with their perverted ways.
My question is who is the manufacturer of these machines and who has a contract to install them?? Is this being done for pure profit of a few? I would think its a major hazzard for ones health, you go to the dentist and they cover your body to avoid getting an exray of anything but your tooth, and the other person goes out of the room!! This is not for our safety, but for someones major greed who will be flying them and theirs on private jets avoiding the sccanners . I wonder who or what comapany is in charge of all this security? What is the cost and profit on one of these machines??? !!! $$$$$
