USA Today reports that the TSA has failed to identify machines (not just scanners) that are emitting too much radiation. The TSA is simply not up to the job. If they couldn’t be trusted with baggage checking machines, how can we trust them to keep the radiation from the naked body scanners under control?

When investigators with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s workplace safety team visited a dozen airports in 2003 and 2004, what they found was disturbing — at least to federal airport workers.

Although most radiation levels around baggage X-ray machines were low, six of 281 machines used to screen checked luggage violated federal radiation standards, some emitting two or three times the allowed limit, the CDC found.

Perhaps most troubling, the CDC had found what the Transportation Security Administration hadn’t noticed. The TSA and its contractors had failed to identify the machines that were emitting excessive radiation — a failure that continues to leave TSA workers and some lawmakers uneasy, especially as the agency continues to deploy hundreds of controversial radiation-emitting machines to help screen passengers.

10 Responses to TSA Employees Finally Catch on to the Radiation Risk

Here is my problem – we have people that have taken a job that for a few are as disgusted as the rest of us but have their orders – work or welfare. Next issue and one I teach in a safety course, we put people in situations that management has no clue what the hazards are or could care less. Management is not only putting on a theater but the management overlooks the safety of their own people.
Management including the top dog treats the employees no better than the flying citizens. The lower level of employees are treated no different than immigrants working a chicken processing plant with the doors locked and there is a fire.

From a guy that is certified in homeland security and over 25 years in safety, where is the OSHA, FDA, NIOSH, and those that uphold the safety and health of the workforce?

To the powers that be, human life is human life — just as worthless for your staff as for the flying public. Because what matters is that the fool at the top looks good, not that he is responsible. That fool will never be held accountable for the health consequences. Wanna make thes people become responsible and take action based on the welfare of the people rahter than on personally looking good? Change the laws so that the head of a decision-making team must be responsible for the ocnsequences of those decisions.

All those agencies are probably under the same (nonexistent) orders that got the DOJ off the backs of the Black Panthers when they were intimidating voters.

Do you see this as part of the profitable depopulation program going on in America? Get everyone full of cancer and the pharmaceutical/insurance companies profit.

Also: OSHA FDA, CIA, FBI, IRS, CPS, TSA are NOT government agencies. They are private corporations that are funded by the government. This is corporatism or fascism. The controls these corporations are making by criminalizing the people, and the dumbed down school system, high taxation, and concentration camps/prisons is more of a communist model. We, once free Americans, have the ‘best’ tyranny money can buy.

The threat to the traveling public is the illegal equipment they have installed on passenger planes (Boeing). Smack-sonic insulation made with jet fuel to heat up in a few seconds and vaporize the plane. QRS11 Gyro-chip to steer the plane when the uninterpretable auto pilot is switched on from the ground, and the Q-Band which has something to do with detonating explosives. Currently there is a lawsuit against the pilots union, and the courts are nervous about it. (www.abeldanger.net … massive information on the corruption that leads to the government pedophile ring, (why not have naked scanners when the heads of state are pedophiles?), insurance fraud, the take over of America during 911, and who was responsible for OKCity, Waco, all the wars and false flag events going back in history. It involves the City of London as well… very interesting work these whistleblowers and researchers have done. … Are you getting the picture?

Stop the madness… realize this empire is over. Let’s create something new that has NO government controls over our lives, and stop believing we need to have ‘them’ to keep us safe… they are the biggest threat to humanity and the environment. Can we all be responsible for ourselves and how we treat others? If so, welcome the Freedom.. if not, this is what we will have more of.

Uh, the FDA is not involved with x-ray machines unless they deal with food or drugs, NIOSH does nothing in this area; OSHA does, if someone files a complaint. Why the CDC is involved is a mystery. Don’t worry says the TSA. You standing in line? So what if you are being cooked … hey, maybe the FDA should be involved.

  3. Kevin says:

Yes, Why is it that the CDC would be the federal agency to be investigating anything unless there was a massive disease or sickness outbreak? OSHA is the place to be checking out if everything is as it should be for the health & safety of the workers. Someone somewhere has their facts screwed up really bad to just name a few federal agencies with NOTHING to do with either work place health & safety or flying.

    • Chirpit says:

The only reason I can think that the CDC would be involved is because it’s not unlikely that the radiation involved could cause an “outbreak” of cancer. I’m just a little curious, too, if a super-bug like MRSA could arise from one of the innumerable bacteria and viruses that are regularly exposed to the radiation, not only on out luggage but now on our bodies.

Still, OSHA should be who’s looking into this, not the CDC or the FDA.

We are in a police state/martial law. I woke up some time this fall and poof here it is.
First, it’s these awful radiation cancer causing body scanners appearing in airports. Then I hear that the airports radiate you when you drive your car into their airport parking lots. Now, I hear that these body scanners are mobile. I saw a Dept. of Homeland video about these 500 white trucks driving around radiating people as they look in their homes and vehicles. When does it end???

  5. Geoff says:

As radiation follows an inverse square law and is usually measured logarithmatically 2 to 3 times the limit is actually very low. 10 to 100 times would be more concerning. I doubt the machines measuring them are that accurate and its within normal measurement error.
