Those Mobile Porno-Scanners In Private Hands, too

by George Donnelly on November 18, 2010

From TechDirt.com. Now we have no idea who might have a porno-scanner and be using it surreptitiously.

Defenders of the systems basically say that people shouldn’t be afraid of such things because they need to be used within the requirements of privacy laws (in the US, at least), but seem to ignore how the US government has been more or less ignoring the 4th Amendment pretty regularly lately. They also say that the technology isn’t good enough to really get the “naked scans” unless you’re right next to the van. Of course, since the vans are made up to look like ordinary vans, most people will have no idea if they’re standing right next to one. Since TSA is mandated to protect the roadways as well as airports, are these scanners being used at roadside checkpoints? Has MADD purchased any to donate for DUI checkpoints?

So do we know who is profiting from these scanners? I’ve heard Soros owns them. I am wondering why the lame stream media is screaming from the rooftops about the grouping pat downs. Its like the establishment wants us to use the scanners. Why? How do they profit from them being used? Who’s behind this? I think we are all being set-up to avoid the pat-downs and use the scanners.

Mega kudos to you all for opting out of the scanners! I think you are doing the right thing! If I was flying Wednesday, I’d be right there with you. Now is the time for courage!
