The We Won’t Fly group in Philadelphia just released this. Here is the Facebook event. So far I’m also aware of meetups in Newark and Minneapolis. There are probably more that just haven’t informed me of their meetup URL.

National We Won’t Fly DayPhiladelphia, PA – Grassroots airline boycott effort We Won’t Fly is
organizing another educational demonstration in front of Terminal F at the
Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday, December 23rd, between 4 and
7 PM to protest the use of recently-installed “porno scanners” at security
checkpoints. Demonstrations are also planned for numerous other airports
around the country. A similar demonstration held last month drew
international attention.“We had a big win on November 24th, National Opt Out Day,” says
WeWontFly.com co-founder George Donnelly. “Courageous consumer advocates
met up at twenty-eight airports around the country to educate flyers. The
TSA dialed back their abuse for a couple days. And we reached millions of
people through dozens of TV, radio and print interviews.”“The immediate goal of the upcoming demonstration is to focus attention on
the airlines and the travel industry,” explained Philadelphia rally
organizer Ken Krawchuk. “This time we’re targeting specifically Terminal F
and US Airways. That’s where the gropers and porno-scanners are. We’re
hoping we can convince US Airways to junk their ineffectual, unhealthy
scanners and replace them with something that actually provides security.”Donnelly added, “We must open their hearts and show them our consumer power
so they’ll get on our side. Together we have an excellent chance to replace
the scanners and gropers with real security. But without the airlines on
our side, further begging of congress critters is an exercise in futility.”We Won’t Fly is a pro-consumer grassroots effort to encourage travelers to
stop flying until the x-ray scanners have been removed, and to demand that
airlines join with concerned consumers in opposition to the scanners and
enhanced pat-downs. For more information, visit WeWontFly.com.- End –

Words of the wise:
If anybody shows up at the rallies trying to agitate people into violent action, then
JUST SAY NO!!!!
Don’t participate in that!
It could be a well-meaning civilian, or it could be an undercover FBI/CIA agent trying to get a cause to be discredited.
This cause is too important to discredit, no matter who is behind it or what the intentions may be.
It always takes two hands to clap and *nobody* has *any* power to force anybody into violent protesting. Only we can make that choice, individually.
Further, to remain polite and in good taste, even while making a strong point, is extremely important for the sake not only of the success of the rally, but of the cause at large. Very, very important.
I am posting this because someone else posted something about violent action to another article on this forum.
Please be a watchful guardian for the sake of the cause. Stay polite, effective, and very much planned about how to make the point clearly, and all will work out very well.
I am not one of the higher-ups at We Won’t Fly so I hope I am not taking too much liberty here….but wanted to weigh in as a concerned person who cares about this. As do we all.
Thank you all!
